KATHERINE WALKER, MD

Katherine M. Walker, MD, attended Cornell University in Ithaca, NY where she received a B.S. in biology. She attended medical school at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY and then went on to complete a residency in family medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. After residency, she relocated to Greensboro, NC where she completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship at Moses Cone Hospital in 2005.

Dr. Walker joined Cabarrus Family Medicine in 2005. She practices family medicine at the Harrisburg location and provides sports medicine care at the Sports Medicine and Injury Center in Concord. She is the Assistant Director of the Cabarrus Sports Medicine Fellowship and enjoys teaching residents in the Cabarrus Family Medicine Residency Program. She is an associate team physician for Catawba College and volunteers as the team physician for Mt. Pleasant High School. She also serves as a team physician for the United States National Synchronized Swim Team.

Dr. Walker has authored several articles on a variety of topics such as orthotics, hip fractures and running injuries.

Personal interest include running, cycling, basketball, golf, and tennis. She was a two-time NCAA Division I All-American in track and field and is a member of the Cornell University Athletic Hall of Fame.
