Matthew Thomas, MD, from Matthews, NC graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and attended medical school at University of South Carolina.
Dr. Matthew Thomas will be part of Cabarrus Family Medicine from 2011-2014. He will see patients in the Harrisburg office, Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast, and our teaching nursing home. Dr. Thomas is learning how to be a personal family physician through “hands on” patient care.
Dr. Thomas decided to become a family physician because the specialty combines all aspects of medicine to help treat a patient as a whole person, with a focus on preventing disease. He views the role of a personal family physician, who cares for individual patients and their families, as a great privilege. His professional interests include sports medicine, office procedures, and preventive medicine.
He is a big sports fan and enjoys going to the gym, playing basketball and tennis, along with reading fiction and spending time with his wife and cat, Henry.
