Mia R. Griggs, MD, is native of North Carolina. She completed undergraduate school at Wake Forest University and medical school at East Carolina University. She remained at ECU for residency training in Family Medicine, as well as fellowship training in Sports Medicine. Prior to joining Cabarrus Family Medicine in 2009, Dr. Griggs was on faculty with Austin Medical Education Programs in Austin, TX. While in Austin, Dr. Griggs also served as team physician for the University of Texas Longhorns.
In addition to providing a broad scope of Family Medicine care to her primary care patients, Dr. Griggs enjoys maintaining a part of her practice in the specialty of Sports Medicine. In both areas of her practice, she has a special interest in developing innovative, patient-centered systems of care.
Dr. Griggs and her husband, Jamie are the parents of two very entertaining children. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Dr. Griggs enjoys running and trail and road cycling. |
