CLINICAL RESEARCH
In conjunction with Carolinas Research Associates, Cabarrus Family Medicine hosts clinical trials at our Concord site at 270 Copperfield Boulevard.
There are a variety of clinical studies taking place at Cabarrus Family Medicine. You may find out about these by asking your healthcare provider or by calling 704-366-3001.
Participation in a clinical trial means you will work with a research team in a clinical office setting. Team members include doctors, nurses, study coordinators, and other health care professionals. As a qualified volunteer for a study, you will receive all medical visits related to the study at no cost. This can include physical exams, doctor visits, study medications, laboratory tests, EKGs, etc.
Stringent criteria must be met prior to participation in a clinical study. This criterion is different for each study and is based on the pharmaceutical company’s protocol. Every study identifies some specific characteristics that the participants should have in order to participate. These characteristics are called eligibility criteria. Some of these characteristics include age, general health, a diagnosis of a particular disease, certain symptoms, etc. Your healthcare provider will have the criteria for all enrolling studies.
